Garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata [Bieb] Cavara & Grande) is a cool season biennial herb with stalked, triangular to heart-shaped, coarsely toothed leaves that give off an odor of garlic when crushed. It is non-native and highly invasive as seen here, where it is covering the ground at a nearby forest preserve.
