We experienced a drought the summer this picture was taken, so these gooseneck loosestrife (Lysimachia clethroides) plants did not flower as nicely as the previous year. Notice that the flower heads tend to face in the same direction for all the plants in the group. This was their last appearance in our yard, since I pulled them out shortly after this picture was taken.
