Some ignorant landscaper decided glossy buckthorn would make a good screen along the fence on two sides of our backyard. To be honest, we thought it was working well before we found out what it was. The birds loved the berries and it blocked our view of the neighbors' yards. Then the buckthorn seedlings started popping up everywhere. When we learned the true identity of this invasive tree, we knew it had to go.
