Illinois sensitive (Desmanthus illinoensis) Common names: prairie bundleflower, prairie mimosa, Illinois bundleflower. The Genus name is derived from the Greek "desme" for bundle, and "anthos" for flower as the inflourescence is a ball composed of many small flowers. The first officially identified specimens were found in Illinois.
