This wild quinine (Parthenium integrifolium), also known as prairie dock, sprouted from seed in one of our sunniest spots. The first clue that helped us identify it while it was young and flowerless was the very scratchy texture of its serrated leaves. Once the tiny, white flower clusters appeared, we knew for sure.
