Starry campion (Silene stellata) displays a loose, terminal panicle of a few to many flowers. Each flower is about .75 to 1 inches across, on a stalk .25 to .5 inches long, has 5 white petals that are deeply fringed into 8-12 lobes, and 10 threadlike stamens that protrude past the edge of the corolla.   The bell-shaped calyx has 5 broadly triangular lobes.
