Entering the shady area under the white ash, we see that the periwinkle is thriving. Despite its alien status, we have allowed the periwinkle to stay because we have not decided what to replace it with. Perhaps cinquefoil, which we have planted on the other side of the path out of sight in this picture, would be a suitable replacement.
