This is what is left of our European cranberry bush (Viburnum opulus). I didn't feel like digging out the roots on this bush, so I did a sort of reverse pruning on it. I cut away all the live braches and left the rest. The neighbors probably think I am crazy, but the birds like to gather on the dead branches.
