Another look at the backyard. The plants were significantly more filled in this year. There is still a lot of Canada wild rye (Elymus canadensis), but we saw more specimens of other grasses this year than we had in the past. Notice the tree leaning over by the fence. A recent deluge soaked the ground caused our snag to pull free from the mud. The birds and insects love the dead tree so we are going to leave it there and see what happens.
