Here you can see Benia posing with our new rain barrels. They were formerly used to transport peppers from Greece. While the native plants don't need to be watered once they are established, our food garden is a little more delicate. The barrels allow us to store about 100 gallons of water for use between rains. This saves us money on our water bill and provides untreated water that is better for plants.
