The bright yellow of Coreopsis lanceolata along with the frilly petals is very attractive. It has many common names: lanceleaf coreopsis, lanceleaf tickseed, sand coreopsis, sand tickseed. I usually only use one when describing flowers in Native Suburbia, but I haven't picked my favorite yet.
