The hedge bindweed (Calystegia sepium) has once again covered the mailbox post and decorated with its bright white flowers. This very successful native plant does create a maintenance issue here in the parkway. I periodically pull it out whenever I find it anywhere besides the mailbox. I want to give the other plants a chance to get established before I let them battle it out on their own.
